88Lawyers.com uses a detailed, five-step certification process:
The entire certification process can take as little as three to five days to complete.
1. Lawyer Provides Client Contacts
Once a lawyer submits the appropriate application and receives pre-approval for membership from the 88Lawyers.com selection committee, they will then be asked to provide the names and contact information of three former clients who have agreed to help them complete their certification. (Please note that membership is not officially granted until the entire certification process is complete.)
2. Introduction to 88Lawyers.com
A member from our certification staff will contact the lawyer’s former clients and speak to them in detail about our mission, as well as the process they must complete in order to help their former lawyer achieve official membership.
3. Testimonial Verification
If the former client agrees to provide a testimonial, they will be given instructions on how to properly complete the online rating system and written testimonial.
4. Receipt of Signed Verification
Once the former client has completed each step of the testimonial verification, a member of 88Lawyers.com will then mail the former client a paid return envelope and an official document to be signed that verifies the statements they have made with regard to their former lawyer are ingenuous and their own.
5. Authentication
Once 88Lawyers.com has received the former client’s signed document, the lawyer will then be officially certified with 88Lawyers.com.
